Jamie Katz is an emerging, self-taught artist based in Charlotte, North Carolina, specializing in abstract expressionism. While her full-time career is in oncology research she has been passionately painting for approximately four years. Jamie officially launched her art buisness in the summer of 2025.
Her creative process is spontaneous and intuitive; each piece is born in the moment without a predetermined plan. Jamie's work explores how sound, color, texture, and pattern can awaken emotion and imagination by engaging both the mind and soul. She invites viewers to interpret her art freely, emphasizing individual perspective and emotional resonance. For her, art is a space of vulnerability and healing that offers a form of expression words cannot match. Although each piece originates from her personal experience, she finds fulfillment in its shared nature - belonging to everyone who connects with it.
Jamie has worked across a variety of formats from miniature panels to large-scale canvases as big as 60 x 48 inches. Looking ahead, she plans to pursue larger projects including gallery exhibitions and market events. Her artistic inspirations are diverse, but she draws the most influence from Vanessa (v?), Dane Wells, James Jean, Hannes Schauer, and Maria Calandra.
